The Pantry Plus More is an all-volunteer organization that depends on the passionate contributions of dozens of dedicated individuals from across Monongalia County. Our board members, committee members, and in-school pantry representatives are the foundation of our success.
- Fundraising Committee – Focus on raising funds to meet the organization’s budget. Works with committee to plans and hold fundraising events. Works on strategies to develop donor support. Works on new fundraising ideas. Solicits businesses for donations. Gathers Silent Auction items. Presents reports on proposed fundraising activities for approval. Helps to identify and recruits volunteers for fundraising committee.
- Inventory Committee – Counting inventory coming in and tracking what goes out to schools. Developing or improving inventory management procedures. Notifying purchaser(s) what needs restocked. Preparing reports on how much of each product is used by each school. Making recommendations to the board regarding inventory. Will prepare inventory list for use by school representatives. Under the direction of the Chair, regularly doing inventory counts of specific categories.
- School Reps Committee – Representatives are assigned a specific school and accept responsibility for that in-school pantry. Each representative will stock, maintain, organize pantry as often as needed. Each rep will pay close attention to stocking school with items that will reach best by date the soonest to try to move inventory out to minimize waste. Reps will remove items from their school pantry when it reaches the Best By date. Each representative will work with their school liaison to ensure a good working relationship. When available reps will packs and distribute fresh produce on the second Thursday of each month while school is in session. Reps are responsible for filling out inventory forms each time inventory is taken to schools and giving their school reports to Micah monthly. Substitutes will be trained and must accompany whatever school they volunteer to sub for several times to understand the system.
- Back to School Bash Committee – Planning, organizing the annual Back to School Bash at North Elementary including raising funds, soliciting businesses, ordering school supplies, backpacks, and hygiene products, hair stylists, ice cream and sprinkles. Includes securing parking and transportation.
